Lately, in Corinna...

April 19, 2001

On April 18, in an annual ceremony at Faneuil Hall in Boston, Massachusetts, the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency New England presented thirty-six Environmental Merit Awards to individuals and organizations for outstanding efforts in preserving New England's environment. They presented me with this award for work on The Cattail Press. The citation reads, in part, "...a web site that provides citizens with a vital link to data, information and photographs about the cleanup..."

This award is a great honor, not just to the web site but also to the commitment of those who care about Corinna and the many people working to secure a bright future for the town and its environment.

Ed Hathaway, EPA Project Manager for the Corinna Superfund Site and Rick Leighton, EPA Construction Manager for the site stopped for a photograph with me outside Faneuil Hall.

My thanks to Rick and Ed for their encouragement and the award. They have provided access to much of the cleanup-related content appearing on the web site. Ed has patiently answered many questions. Rick has explained operations and lead me through the site for many great photographs.
