There is only one part of the Eastland Woolen Mill left to demolish, the white clapboard building covering the "middle dam". (This picture was taken from the third floor of the Odd Fellows Hall.) According to the Corinna Historical Society, this structure was built over the dam in 1949 blocking it from view. Soon it will be visible again.

Peter Smith, a former resident of Corinna who now lives in Damariscotta, sent this copy of a post card of the "middle dam". The photo was probably taken in the early 1900's.

Peter, who is a descendent of Constant Southworth, one of Corinna first settlers, has a large collection of Corinna post cards from the early 1900's.

It will be interesting to see how the dam looks after being covered for all these years. However, we need to look quickly. The dam will be removed soon in preparation for moving the river channel a few hundred feet to the east.
