There are no buildings on the north side of Main Street. It has probably been almost 200 years since the view was unobstructed from the east end of the street back to West Main Street (the Palmyra Road) going out over the hill. When the town was incorporated in 1816 Moore's Mill was already grinding grain and sawing lumber on this location beside the river.
