The Blizzard of 1962

Now let's look back 40 years! Are you old enough to remember the Blizzard of December 30 and 31, 1962? We were supposed to get snow flurries. I remember hearing George Hale read the weather forecast on his radio program that morning. By the time it stopped snowing two days later there were three feet of drifted snow in Main Street. I think this slide was taken by my grandfather, Herbert Dow, Sr. on New Years Day, 1963. I'm pretty sure the man on the right is Ed Leavitt, the local barber. Who is the man with him?

If you have memories to share about the Great Storm of '62 please send them in to the Guest Book. We would all enjoy reading them. I will post more of my grandfather's slides tomorrow.
