Although lots of progress has been made, this area, where the mill once stood, still looks like a moonscape. The most concentrated contamination was found here, centered on the dye house. There was a 39 foot hole in the ground in this area at the height of the excavation. These long piles of newly decontaminated soil will be spread out to fill the crater. By next summer this area should be flat and seeded to grass.
