These canisters, filled with activated charcoal, are used to remove the trichlorobenzene and other chemicals from water. All water taken from the contaminated soil excavations or the contaminated wells in the area must be cleaned before it can be released back into the river. These canisters are the final step in the water purification system used on the cleanup site. |
