Lately, in Corinna...

This bulldozer is on top of the pile of decontaminated soil in Area 1. The soil treatment process is working well and making progress. Almost each day newly cleaned soil comes from the treatment bins. The treated soil falls into three categories. The cleanest can be used as fill anywhere with no restrictions. Some is clean enough to be used inside the controlled zone. It is safe for fill and human contact but might, overtime, leach small amounts of cholorobenze compounds into groundwater. The third type still contains too much contamination. It is classified as hazardous waste. That soil will be shipped to land-fills in Canada.
