Lately, in Corinna...

This is a picture from Peter Smith's post card collection. The card is postmarked December 9, 1913. The picture was taken from Pleasant Street (St. Albans Road). Built before the Civil War in 1851 with money raised by local residents, Corinna Union Academy was incorporated by the State Legislature in 1852. The wings, which now extend either side of the building, were completed in 1932. Notice the belfry on the building. It originally housed the bell that was recently returned to the building after many years absence.
