Lately, in Corinna...

The soldier's monument and the two cannons in Winchester Park were placed there by the Grand Army of the Republic and the W.R.C. in 1907. I also remember there used to be two pyramid-shaped piles of cannon balls.

As a child, living across the street, I used to think he was standing guard over the town. Watching everything that happened on our corner.

This is a view of what you'll see if you step in through those lilac bushes behind the statue. It's amazing what a few trees can hide. Work is progressing out back. The concrete slab we looked at last week has been poured. In the distance you can see another large tank being moved into place by a truck.
