Busy day in Corinna...In a press conference held this afternoon on the trail bridge, the Department of Conservation's Maine Forest Service announced that Corinna has been chosen as a Project Canopy Model Town. Fawn Davis Condon and Judy Doore spoke along with Project Canopy's program director, Kevin Doran. The program will provide technical assistance and much more in a comprehensive community forestry initiative. Residents helped plant a red maple to commemorate the town's partnership with Project Canopy.

Down in front of the Stewart Library Building, the new section of road connecting to Route 7 is taking shape. Instead of the two ninety degree turns Route 43 now takes, there will be a gentle turn to the right and then a perpendicular intersection with Route 7 just south of the bridge.
