Here's another aerial photo from Stan Berube. The straight line of light colored rock near the center is the new riverbed north of the bridge. Water should flow there before winter. The final work on that section will be done next summer.

 

 

What about a roundabout?

The intersection of Routes 7, 11, 43 and 222 pictured above will be re-built sometime in the next few years. One of the proposed plans includes a traffic device called a roundabout, something many of us have never seen. Here is a link to a web page by the Traffic Department of the City of Portland, Oregon that shows pictures of roundabouts. Because the page contains many photos, it will take a while to load. Tomorrow I'll post some recent pictures of a roundabout that is here in Maine.
