For five years, since the Superfund Cleanup began, we have watched some very large piles of soil grow and shrink. This is the one we've been waiting for. This pile of cleaned soil first grew as the soil decontamination process went into full swing early this year. Now it is shrinking again as the cleaned soil is used to fill and grade in areas restored on the site. The EPA is saying that the soil decontamination process may be complete this year, much sooner than originally planned. That is good news.
