Lately, in Corinna...

This photo, taken from the air last weekend shows what looks like a runway in the middle of a strangely shaped field. That is not what it is. The view here is to the South from over Corinna. The "field" is the ponded area of the Alder Stream between the Exeter Road and Spragues Mills, more recently known as the Swim Front, on Route 222. The "runway" is a plowed section of the stream used by snowmobile owners to "test" their sleds. Snowmobilers have a great time here. Part of surviving the winter in Maine is finding ways to enjoy the outdoors. 

The large clear area running out of view in the upper right of the picture is Sebasticook Lake in Newport. Click on this photo to view a larger copy.
