Main Street Bridge in Ice

August 20, 2001

Our thanks to Jacquie Sawtelle for finding and sharing this picture. She believes it was taken by her father, Archie Sawtelle. He was well known in Corinna as a local photographer.

The view is toward the south side of Main Street from just up the river. The picture was taken before the mill expanded across the river. On the extreme left we can see the corner of the mill, then, across the street, The Block. Moving right, there is the alley and the Corinna Insurance Building, most recently known as Henderson's Store. Under the sign, "First National Stores", is the other building that was demolished last year. On the right is the restaurant, torn down a few years ago. This picture was taken before the Odd Fellows Hall moved across the street in the late 40's.

If you know more about this picture, please send a message to The Guest Book. We would love to know more about it.
