4) What is being done to make sure that redevelopment occurs?

The Town of Corinna recently received a Superfund Redevelopment Grant from the EPA. These funds were used to hire a team of land use planning and development consultants. Their goal is to develop a reuse plan for the area after the Superfund cleanup. The purpose of the reuse plan will be to match site opportunities with the Town's vision for redevelopment. The consultant team will conduct a market analysis, prepare a site plan and design, and identify regulatory policies and financial incentives. In addition, the consultant will develop a concept plan and an action plan.

The Eastern Maine Development Corporation is also assisting the Town in this process, and the Corinna Economic Development Association will play an important role in the planning process. The Town, these organizations, and the consulting team intend to seek comments and questions from citizens throughout redevelopment assessment process.
