PUBLIC WEEKLY UPDATE

NON-TIME CRITICAL REMOVAL ACTION

EASTLAND WOOLEN MILL SITE

CORINNA, ME

 

The following summarizes WESTON's work completed on the Eastland Woolen Mill Site for week ending Friday August 24, 2001:

Safety Update:

  • Conducted daily safety inspections on the heavy equipment used on site.
  • Workers around the work areas wore level C and D personal protective equipment.


Work Accomplished by WESTON and Subcontractor:

  • Screened soil and moved from old stockpile to new stockpile.
  • Continued demolishing Mill foundation.
  • Continued Area 1 excavation.
  • Water treatment plant operated for five days.
  • Continued site dust control.

Two-week Projection:

The following summarizes the anticipated work to be completed for the next two week time period (September 4 through September 14):

  • Repair Corundel Lake Dam.
  • Continue Area 1 excavation.
