PUBLIC WEEKLY UPDATE

NON-TIME CRITICAL REMOVAL ACTION

EASTLAND WOOLEN MILL SITE

CORINNA, ME

 

The following summarizes WESTON's work completed on the Eastland Woolen Mill Site for week ending Friday January 12, 2000:

Safety Update:

  • Conducted daily safety inspections on the heavy equipment used on site.
  • Workers around the work areas continued to wear level D personal protective equipment.

 

Work Accomplished by WESTON and Subcontractor:

  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Performed snowmobile trail maintenance.
  • Continued snow removal and general housekeeping around the site.
  • Prepared north wing wall on abutment #1 for pour on 1/12/01.
  • Completed 12yd3 pour of north wing wall on abutment #1.
  • Completed pour of Odd Fellows basement.
  • Began installation of electrical boxes/cables in Odd Fellows Building.
  • Began saw-cutting Odd Fellows basement slab.

 

Two-week Projection:

The following summarizes the anticipated work to be completed for the next two week time period (January 15 through January 29):

  • Continue ongoing maintenance of erosion controls, construction fencing, and security fence around the work site.
  • Continue bridge construction.
  • Complete installation of electricity and other utilities in Odd Fellows Building.
  • Monitor winter cover on contaminated soil stockpile.
