NON-TIME CRITICAL REMOVAL ACTION

EASTLAND WOOLEN MILL SITE

CORINNA, ME

 

The following summarizes WESTON's work completed on the Eastland Woolen Mill Site for week ending Friday December 15, 2000:

 

Safety Update:

  • Conducted daily safety inspections on the heavy equipment used on site.
  • Conducted air monitoring in work areas (Odd Fellows foundation and bridge excavation area).
  • Workers around the work areas continued to wear level D personal protective equipment.

 

Work Accomplished by WESTON:

  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Continued frac tank cleaning.
  • Operated on-site wastewater treatment plant.
  • Cleaned and demobilized heavy equipment from the site.
  • Secured additional tires on the contaminated soil stockpile.
  • Installed construction fence, signs, and barricades along snowmobile trail.
  • Performed maintenance at on-site wastewater treatment plant.
  • Began cutting 30,000 gallon UST in half for transportation off-site.
  • Completed lowering of Odd Fellows Building on new foundation.
  • Continued constructing steel reinforcements for bridge abutments #1 and #2.
  • Completed an approximately 105yd3 pour for abutments #1 and #2.

 

Two-week Projection:

The following summarizes the anticipated work to be completed for the next two week time period (December 18 through January 2):

  • Continue ongoing maintenance of erosion controls, construction fencing, and security fence around the work site.
  • Continue bridge construction.
  • Pour Odd Fellows Building cellar floor.
  • Install electricity and other utilities in Odd Fellows Building.
  • Monitor winter cover on contaminated soil stockpile.
