Here's a view from the back side of the buildings on Main Street. The picture was taken last week from the fence perimeter in the swale between the Newport Road and the railroad right-of-way. This entire area is now fenced off in preparation for the work to come. New water and sewer lines will be put in. The rest of the contaminated soil in the riverbed will be excavated and replaced. These buildings will be demolished or moved. The new river channel will be constructed. The new road and bridge will be built. The trail will be repaired.
