This is a view down into the excavation beside the Dexter Road intersection. Soil contaminated with gasoline has been removed. For many years in the past a gas station sat on this location. When this picture was taken, they were putting clean soil back into the hole, notice the compactor down in the trench box. The soil is put back in layers. Each layer is compacted before the next layer goes in.
