The new section of paving, where the workers are standing in this picture, is near the former location of the Sawtelle house on the Newport Road. When the new section of Route 7 is opened, the old section from the Main Street will be dead ended at Bob Brown's building. Temporarily, this connector will provide access to Route 7 from the west side of town. After Main Street is removed, a new road will be built to extend the St. Albans and Nokomis Roads down to the new road. See diagram. |
