Here is an aerial shot of the clean-up site south of Main Street. The excavation area fills the center of the picture. Notice the semicircle of pipes carrying the pumped river water around to the left. They won't be pumping the river during the winter and spring run-off seasons. Sometime late this Fall the pumps will be shut down and the dam opened. The water will run along the path of the old riverbed until the new channel is built next year.
