Looking upstream at the Upper Dam, the concrete block in the foreground is a remnant of a gate control system installed many years ago. Notice the weathered stub of a wooden post extending from the top of the block. A series of these block used to carry cables from the mill up to the dam. The cables were used to control the flood gates on the dam. This block will be removed in the restoration of the streambed. |
