A quick look around shows us that arches are very important to the structure of the building. The arch in this photo spans from the brick column over to the wall of the foundation.

Over the years the cellar has seen many uses. It was a public gathering place in the early years, a gymnasium, a locker room, and most recently it was the setting for haunted house displays for Halloween.

This doorway is in the central wall that runs across the full width of the cellar. The door frame is oak similar to the woodwork used throughout the building.

Further along the wall are other arch structures. The spans are filled in with bricks or granite. Some of you will remember when the cellar was the locker room for basketball teams. The two pipes running down this wall were the hot and cold water for the shower stall that used to be here.
