NON-TIME CRITICAL REMOVAL ACTION
EASTLAND WOOLEN MILL SUPERFUND SITE
CORINNA, MAINE
The following summarizes WESTON’s work completed at the Eastland Woolen Mill Site for week ending Saturday September 15, 2001:
Safety Update:
Conducted daily safety inspections on heavy equipment used on-site. All work was completed in level D or modified level D PPE.
Work Accomplished by WESTON and Subcontractor:
- Continued Area 1 excavation.
- Continued demolition of mill building foundation in Area 1.
- Began crushing concrete on-site in Area 4.
- Performed water quality (temperature, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity) readings north and south of new bridge.
- Began river restoration work.
- Water treatment plant treated approximately 112,000 gallons this week.
- Continued site dust control.
Two-week Projection:
- Continue contaminated soil screening operation.
- Continue Area 1 excavation.
- Continue river restoration work
