Lately, in Corinna...

Yesterday was a busy day in Corinna.

The railroad trestle was removed. It was amazing to see something that solidly sat in place for over 100 years come apart so quickly. After cutting the bolts holding the metal frame of the bridge to the granite abutments, the trestle was removed and one side of the granite had already been hauled away by the end of the day.

Up on Main Street, the demolition of the remaining buildings began. The excavator arrived near mid-day. Before the afternoon was over, Hendersons' store was gone and they started work on the back of the Beauregard building. Today that will continue. There may also be some work done on the Hoyt building on the other side of the Odd Fellows Hall.
