Lately, in Corinna...

This is another of Stan Berube's aerials. It's an unusual view of the Stewart Library Building. The new river channel north of the bridge is also visible at the top of the picture. Current plans call for enlarging Winchester Park from the present location just beyond the three evergreen trees toward the river channel.

What about a roundabout?

The intersection of Routes 7, 11, 43 and 222 in Corinna will be re-built sometime in the next few years. One of the proposed plans includes a traffic device called a roundabout, something many of us have never seen. Here is a link to a web page by the Traffic Department of the City of Portland, Oregon that shows pictures of roundabouts. Because the page contains many photos, it will take a while to load. (My thanks to David Louder for sending in this link.)

Below is a picture of a roundabout in the Gorham-Windham area, here in Maine. There is one lane of traffic around the circle. The pink pavement area accommodates larger vehicles when necessary.
