This is another post card from Peter Smith's collection. It shows Main Street, Corinna, looking west through the village and up West Main Street (Nokomis Road). The railroad tracks cross in the foreground. On the left is the Realty Block. On the right side of the street is the Corinna Manufacturing Company, the woolen mill built in 1912. Just beyond that is the Odd Fellows Hall in its original location. The clock tower of the Stewart Library Building is further on. I believe the Realty Block was built shortly after the woolen mill. I think this picture was taken before 1920. In another photograph we've seen dated about 1920, the mill has different siding. These post card pictures are wonderful to see. Thanks to Peter Smith and Perry Brown for sharing them with us. If you know more about this location or related events. Please consider sharing your stories in the Guest Book. |
