The Nokomis Road and the Saint Albans Road (Route 43) come together in front of the Stewart Library Building. That intersection used to be the west end of Main Street. When Main Street was removed during the cleanup, traffic was diverted along what used to be the Newport Road and back on to Route 7. As seen in this picture taken yesterday, a new connection to Route 7 is almost complete. Certainly this new road won't replace Main Street but what role will it play in the redevelopment of the village area? |
