Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: Jennifer Clifford Location: Waterville, ME Comment: Hi Mr. Dow. My Dad is Jack Clifford and he suggested that I checked out your
site. As a librarian, I will let some of our teachers know about it. Very well done.
Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: Bonnie (Satterfield) Simcock Location: Rutland, Vermont Comment: Hi Ken!
Thanks for organizing and managing the website. Mom (Brenda Jacobs) recommended the site, saying we wouldn't believe the changes with the demolition of the mill. I am anxious to see it myself. Next time Jason and I make it back to Corinna, nothing will be left but beautiful views and the promise of new life for a former mill town. What an exciting time!
Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: John Veenhuizen Location: Packard Road Comment: Ken: We've been in Corinna since 1986 (New Jersey transplant). We've always loved the look of the town, especially the drive up St. Albans Rd. on the way to our street. All those neat little properties. The woodlot on the farm we bought ends at the shore of Corundel Lake which you call the "hidden asset" in your October 18,1999 photo. It is truly a very beautiful and peaceful place. We have walked and snowshoed down to the lake countless times over the years to enjoy what this lake has to offer. What a blessing that in the future this beauty will be open for many to see as they make their way through our town. Incidentally, congratulations on a great web site. I check it out often.
Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: Pat Payelian Location: Corinna Comment: As a relatively new resident of the town, I really appreciate the chance to get to
know the "Before" as we move into the "After" phase of growth. You are doing a
spectacular job of recording history in the making! Thanks so much for all of your effort.
Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: Arnold Hills Location: Augusta Comment: Great job on the site...brings back memories....
Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: Marie Pucci McGovern Location: Waterford, CT Comment: Hi Ken, Julie recommended that I check out your site and I am sure glad I did.
It's nice to find some place where it is colder than here. Actually, today it is in the mid 40's and nice and sunny. Say hi to Julie for me and keep up the good work. Marie
Date: Feb. 23, 2000 Name: Lynn Manson Location: Berwyn (Chicago) IL Comment: Hey Mr. Dow! I remember Science class (CJH)...swimming at the front (you and Dave taught swimming then). ..Computer programming (I got C's..NRH)... Little did I know that I would be spending my adult life in a High School (I catalog for the Library)! I've been out here since 86, (w/hubby Ray) and my oldest starts high school
in Aug. 2000. Thanks for the website...really brings me back when I need it. *Hint the town could use some new material on theirs! Just wanted to say Hey Kenny! (I mean..OOPS MR. Dow). Lynn

Date: Feb. 22, 2000 Name: Don McKenney Location: Port St Lucie, Fl Comment: I continue to check the progress of the rehabbing of Corinna. Very interesting, congratulations on your project.
Date: Feb. 22, 2000 Name: Tebob Buckland Location: St. Petersburg; Florida Comment: Just got done looking at the pictures of the cellar. I'm not sure but remember
when we played basketball upstairs we had to give Jose Mullen twenty five cents to build a fire to heat the water for the shower. That sure brought back memories. Keep up the excellent work.
Date: Feb. 22, 2000 Name: Brian Knowles Location: Simpsonville, SC Comment: Still enjoy keeping up with all that's happening. Where is the weather chair?
I was going to suggest the basement of the Town Hall. I remember it as the "Locker Room" for the the CUA basketball teams. As kids we used to occasional lock each other in the old jail cells. I'm sure you'll get plenty of stories about the old jail. As a matter of fact you may be busy editing over the next few days. Keep up the great work.
Date: Feb. 22, 2000 Name: Tressa Partridge Folsom Location: Cambridge, Maine Comment: Thanks Ken for the great job on your website. I usually make it into Corinna about once a week, but now I can keep up with what's happening on a day to day basis. There sure are a lot of memories on Main Street. As a teenager, I put on quite a few miles walking to and from school at the junior high and one year at CUA. My father, Norman, put in many years at the mill, so we would pop in on him every once in awhile. I still try to visualize where things were as we ride by. Keep up the good work!
Date: Feb. 22, 2000 Name: Cathy Greene Location: Corinna Comment: Nice job Kenny.
Date: Feb. 22, 2000 Name: Pete & Lore Davis Location: Brooksville Fl. Comment: We like your Site very much, used to do a lot of trading with the Davis supply store, Too bad its all gone now but perhaps things will change for the better in the future.

Date: Feb. 21, 2000 Name: June Hall Location: North Newport :-) Comment: My neighbor just told me of your website today and I just had to check it out.
It's a great piece of work. My brother-in-law worked in the mill since he was in high school, and he's 59 now. I actually live about 5 miles from the mill but don't see the work progressing much. This site is just the thing! Thanks so much.
Date: Feb. 20, 2000 Name: Mike Buckland Location: U.S. Virgin Islands Comment: Hey Ken, I was just checking out your page, after my dad (Vic) sent me the
address. I spend my youth running around the streets of Corinna. School, baseball, and even working for Andy & Bobby at Davis Supply, some great childhood memories. I happen to be working to clean up an EPA superfund site down here on St. Thomas. It's been great being able to read about the EPA reports on the mill site. Keep up the great work! --Mike
Date: Feb. 20, 2000 Name: Phil & Pat White Location: Dundee , Florida Comment: We saw your web-page on our friends Web T.V. we liked the pictures, and comments. Keep up the good work. Our home is in Corinna. What a nice surprise to see the pictures of the demolition.

documentation will become part of that history.
Date: Feb. 20, 2000 Name: Craig Hartley Location: HI, DE, OR & now NH...but I still miss ME. Comment: Hi once more Kenny,
As I mention in my last email, it's really great to see the old eye sore coming down. In some ways, to some folks, it's sad. Only because I'm sure that for many, the Mill was lifeblood. For most, however, it was something to be dealt with, the water & air pollution, god only knows how much damage it created over the years...please, don't drink the water! Ken, I also wanted to inform you that I hyper linked Corinna's Town Web site to yours....
Good luck,
Craig
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Reggie Lane Location: Rt. 222 (Dad's old house) Comment: Ken, this web site is really great for the people that are missing the daily
improvements to our TOWN. This may help to bring this town together and keep this moving so that our children can take pride in this town again! Your site is a step in the right direction. Keep up the good work!
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Arlene Day, Lane, Nelson Location: Spring Hill, FL Comment: Love your site Ken, keep up the good work. The daily progress on the mill is
awesome!! The old photos really take me back in time, but you can keep the snow banks. I have to thank my sisters Ginny and Barbie for letting me know about your site, will be checking in daily until I can see it in person this Spring.
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Peggy (Ireland) Kaufman Location: Dexter, Maine 04930 Comment: Having been raised in Corinna, this is a big change to the surroundings. Your
doing a great job keeping us all informed on the latest happenings. I do pass by
frequently, but the website is much more informative. This total redesign of the village should be a positive note for this small town. Keep up the good work, Ken.

Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Virginia Day Turner Location: Palmyra, Maine Comment: You have done a terrific job. I will be checking often to keep up with the
changes in town. The old photos bring back many memories, I grew up in Corinna and all of my family worked in the Mill at some time in their lives. I'm sending the address to others that might be interested. Keep up the good work.
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Jonathan Nichols-Pethick Location: Bloomington, IN Comment: Even though I'm from about as far away from Corinna as you can get and still
be in the continental U.S. (San Diego), I feel very close to the town -- I married into it, so to speak. Visiting this site every day and reading the comments in the guest book makes me feel even more attached. Who knew this strange (and sometimes maddening) little box on my desk would turn out to be such a pleasant window to a place that feels like home. Thank you.
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Carmie Tenney Shorey Location: Burlington, Maine Comment: this is a very good site, you have got to be very proud for all the work you have
put into it. The site will be remembered for years and all the pictures that are
here is just beautiful and anyone can print this out and save it for there grandchildren to know about there history of this town. great job.
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Jim Louder Location: Corinna Comment: Ken,
Great work on gathering all the pictures of the mill being torn down. I really
enjoy your site as a means of keeping track of the demolition. What a great way to keep all of our friends and relatives from away up to date. Keep up the great work, and THANKS.
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Judie Hartley Location: Pawcatuck, CT Comment: Ken,
I recently went home to visit my parents, Earl & Shirley, and as I was rounding the corner past Joan and Bob Brown's old hair salon I was shocked at what I saw. Usually the first thing you see is the large green front wall of the mill, this time it was the cold star-filled night sky! I'm glad that you have created this site it helps those that are far away keep in touch with the happenings of Corinna. I also appreciate the picture you included of my parents house. Just like my brother said, it was a long driveway to plow but it was also great for sledding! Thanks again, Judie
Date: Feb. 19, 2000 Name: Michelle Hartley Wainer Location: North Yarmouth, ME Comment: I keep checking in and find it amazing to see the chipping away of a landmark
that I've know since I was a child. Who can forget the smell that came from those old stacks in the 70s and the tufts of fluff that would roll around the sidewalks from the mill? As much as it is destruction of what we now know as a poisonous monstrosity, maybe it will be a rebirth, this "cleaning up" of the town. Perhaps a clearing of the slate for Corinna to begin a new history for the next millennium. Ken, you keep us all linked well to our history and connection to this small town in Maine.
